Guide to the Tlacique (wip)

7000 b.c.e (aprox):

Hunger.

The insatiable hunger felt by the Slumbering Giant decimated many of the local people. This made him an enemy of the local lupines, and the fights with them were brutal. Ennoia gave him one of the hardest tests under her tutelage, to overcome methuselah’s thirst. He focused his beast and began to embrace, instructing and guiding them through the Road of the Beast. Many fell and were destroyed, the few that did made it he learned to use them as nourishment. This was one of her last lesson on their Path and he learned to further control his beast.

The Slumbering Giant instructed those who survived and encouraged them to embrace and avoid contact with the locals, developing their ways in the Road of the Beast. The perfect excuse to feed from them. Many fell to lupines who targeted them instead of him, but they never found the source of corruption within their lands. In time, he learned to control them through his Animalism.

One night he felt observed.

His instincts were alerted and moved in hope to either fight or flee from whatever predated over him. The Slumbering Giant barely avoided the attacker when it came and didn’t took long until he was defeated. His sire, Ennoia, fed of him. Drained, he learned his latest lesson, to fully control his beast in defeat. They didn’t exchange any words, there was no need. She left immediately afterwards but a bond capable of expressing emotions through the beast began that very same night. She was proud of her childer and this was her way of expressing it.

For millennia, the Slumbering Giant created progeny not talking to them and expecting them to survive on their own. Many perished within their lifetimes and very few survived to became his own brood and sustenance. He learned to avoid the lupines and further control them, learning their concept of “ancestor spirits.” He traveled far on the continent, where only his progeny established themselves in places as far away as where another ocean began. He felt calls from his brothers on the far away lands he came from but ignored them.

After 5000 BC:

Absimiliard crossed the Bering strait and traveled through the Americas. He fed on the regions' Nuwisha, nearly decimating them, but he never could embrace any of them. The Teomallki fight Absimiliard [creation of the Uchumallki]. Not wanting another Koshchei scale event, he left. On its southernmost point, he embraced Setebos to guard his sleep in Antarctica. He embraced Arcadian Ratkin in Antarctica hoping to corrupt the entire species.

[The Slumbering Giant POV]

The emotions of anger, desperation and despair came from the lands beyond the ocean. Powerful sorcery was used that resulted in the corruption of the land itself, he felt this while in his first prolonged torpor. It was that same presence of dread, hate and self-loathing that stirred him from his slumber. His instincts felt the emotions of his sire, it clearly expressed “fear” and “hide”, so he remained in his sleep. The blood spilled by this stranger almost awoke him, decimating Cainite and lupine alike, but he followed her sire’s command.

When he rose, none of his progeny remained. Almost all fell to this presence and those who didn’t, were hunted by the lupines. During the next millennia, he embraced a new brood to rebuild his control over the lupines and sensed the path of this stranger towards the southern lands, a territory unknown to him. Every seasonal cycle he spent instructing childer or hunting previous ones who became tedious, so he used this moment to hunt that strange presence who apparently directed itself southwards, to lands unknown to him. The Slumbering Giant embraced a young woman named Malia of the Zuni people, instructed her the basics of unlife and followed the trail.

[perhaps I'll keep updating what I have here, not redacted for fiction yet but the ideas are there]
